Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team Ready for GP Gippingen and Tour de Suisse

Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team lines up for two races in Switzerland this week: the Grosser Preis des Kantons Aargau and the Tour de Suisse.

11 June 2025

Lining up for the Grosser Preis des Kantons Aargau, or GP Gippingen, on Friday 13 June are: Fabio Christen, Walter Calzoni, Nicoló Parisini, David De La Cruz, David González, Gianluca Brambilla, and Sjoerd Bax.

For the Tour de Suisse, a WorldTour stage race starting Sunday 15 June, the team line-up is: Matteo Badilatti, Fabio Christen, David De La Cruz, David González, Gianluca Brambilla, Marcel Camprubí and Sjoerd Bax.

Fabio Christen, who races in his hometown of Gippingen—a race in which he finished sixth in 2024—looks ahead to the two races:

“To come home with good results from the Tour of Slovenia is a good boost to the confidence. With some rest after that race and the altitude camp before, I should feel even better. I am very excited about the GP Gippingen. Racing at home, in the same race as my brother, and with friends and family there is very special. Then two days later it’s Tour de Suisse, which I’m doing for the first time,” Fabio says.

“I dream of taking the leader’s jersey in the Tour de Suisse. I don’t think I’ll be able to hide anymore after Slovenia because it’s clear to everyone I want a stage win—so it will be extra hard, but also extra special,” he concludes with a smile.

For Sports Director Michael Albasini, it’s also a special week of racing. He won GP Gippingen twice and claimed three stage victories in the Tour de Suisse. He can’t wait to drive our Mercedes-Benz Zug cars through his own country—and even, on day three, through his hometown.

“As a Swiss team with Swiss riders and Swiss sponsors, these races stand out. They are also very important on the calendar. The Tour de Suisse is one of the biggest races behind the three Grand Tours. Gippingen and the Tour de Suisse are the last test for many guys before nationals and a summer break, so motivation is super high,” he looks ahead.

“At first glance, the race doesn’t look too complicated because we don’t go into the high mountains as we often do in the Tour de Suisse—but if you look closer, every day is a hard day. There are many options to make the racing hard. We saw that the team did really well in Slovenia. I am thinking of Fabio and Sjoerd for stage wins. Then we have David De La Cruz, and maybe also Matteo Badilatti for the general classification,” he analyses.

“I am confident we have the riders for every stage, with Brambi, Marcel and David G also there. One stage stands out—stage three from Aarau to Heiden passes through my hometown, and at that exact finish, I was beaten only by Peter Sagan in 2014 myself. It should be a good day for someone like Fabio. I can’t wait to get started and see our friends, family, and sponsors on the roads of the Tour de Suisse and Gippingen,” ‘Alba’ concludes.
