San Sebastián born Azparren is currently in his third season as a pro cyclist and has achieved notable results in stages races, namely a stage win in the 2022 Volta ao Alentejo, where he finished second overall.

“Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team caught my attention from the very beginning. I saw them fighting for victories and achieving them. When Doug Ryder and Alex (Sans Vega) called me to discuss the possibility of joining the team in 2024 I immediately felt a good synergy. It’s great to join a team with high ambitions and with the vision to rise to the WorldTour. I’m a young rider but I want to grow and achieve the objectives the team has for me,” said Azparren.

With a strong flair for time-trailing Azparren took third in the ITT at the Spanish National Championships last year and he’s looking to improve his skillset in this discipline:

“For me it’s important to continue to work on my time-trialling abilities. I have the goal to fight for victories in TT’s and become one of the best Spaniards in that discipline. I know this team has the best equipment and materials and I’m so happy to have this opportunity to join this special team. I hope I can help the team achieve great results, either in one-week stage races that include a TT, classics or as part of a lead-out in sprint finishes. I’m ready to help my teammates and at the same time hope to have some opportunities to fight for victories myself.”

Azparren has raced and finished two Vueltas a España and clinched various top-10 results in multiple races such as Saudi Tour, Vuelta a Burgos and Paris-Camembert. His versatility and strong TT make him an exciting new addition to the 2024 squad of our Swiss-registered team.
