Brent Van Moer joins Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team
We are happy to announce Brent Van Moer as new signing to the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team. The experienced Belgian rider from Beveren will add firepower to the classics team and will be a strong all-round addition to the roster. After spending his entire career so far with the Belgian Lotto team, Van Moer is ready for fresh, new pastures.

“For me it felt like it was time for the next step,” Brent Van Moer said. “There were more teams interested but in Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team I found a vision that I liked. It’s a team that wants to grow. They were looking for someone for a free role in the Classics, showed the confidence in my abilities and believe I can win again. Realistically I won’t say I will win the Tour of Flanders but smaller Classics like Denain, Nokere or Limburg suit me. They support me in my wish to become that attacking rider again. That confidence and a bit of luck in the races can get you far.”
The attack is Brent’s trademark. He is 1m91 tall and a strong Rouleur, meaning he manages to get all that power transferred to the pedals and race hard. His biggest win to date is a stage in Criterium du Dauphiné where he did exactly that: attack.
“I am a rider who needs to race from an early breakaway or a late attack. In 2021 I have shown I can do that successfully in the Dauphiné, and almost in Tirreno Adriatico, Ronde van Limburg [where he was sent the wrong way in winning position] and Tour de France. It’s not easy to win from an attack because the pace these days is super high, but I do hope to get back to that winning feeling again.”

The year 2021 was a highlight and a lowlight for Van Moer. The results where promising but in July of that same year he broke his hip and used most of 2022 to get back. In recent years he raced a lot alongside Arnaud De Lie which changed his role in the team and the races. Those years did get his confidence back and he hopes to continue to build on that in a new environment.
“I look forward to finding out what working with new coaches, new sports directors, new nutritionists and other scientific staff members and new teammates can do to take that final step back to where I want to be. It’s an international team with lots of ambition and that gives me new energy. Frederik Frison told me it would be a good fit for me and in my conversations with Kurt Bogaerts and Doug Ryder that was soon confirmed. They have full confidence in me and that’s already a huge mental boost.”
“We are very excited to welcome Brent van Moer to Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team. After ten years of dedication and loyalty within the Lotto team setup, Brent now seeks a fresh challenge where he can ride with some freedom and aggression and rediscover the winning mentality that has always been a part of him. He is a courageous, attacking rider who is never afraid to take risks, and that style of racing reflects the spirit we want to showcase as a team. Brent’s experience and hunger to race for victories will bring both strength and inspiration to our group as we continue to push forward and achieve our goals as a team.” – Doug Ryder, General Manager, Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team.
