Mark Donovan
1999 | Great Britain
Mark Donovan has been part of the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team since the start. He has a wealth of experience in all sorts of races but excels in the more demanding stage races. He won the Sibiu Cycling Tour in 2023 and came second in Settimana Coppi e Bartali this year.

Once the only Brit on the team but he now has to share this space with two Yorkshiremen.
Mark grew up in the Lake District where he still loves to ride the Great Dunn Fell but moved to Girona when he was 18 and now resides in Andorra. Sports were always a thing in the Donovan household with long bike trips for the young Mark but his competitive career started in trail running.
An ankle injury put him back on the bike and to road cycling and cyclocross as a junior. Give Mark a call when you have a hard, punchy race on offer. It’s where he does well.
There is always room for growth and more progress. That’s exactly what Mark showed this season with good results in Settimana Coppi e Bartali and being an important lieutenant to Tom Pidcock in all major races.
Mark likes dogs, drinks a cappuccino and loves to ride the Great Dunn Fell. He prefers dark chocolate, wears Dottore bib shorts and would chose headwind over rain. He is a morning person and doesn’t do pizza Hawaii.
“I am really excited. The atmosphere in the team is great. I have been with this team since the start and have seen it grow. It’s special to be in the position we are now and do the biggest races of the world. With this Giro d’Italia it means I took the start in all three Grand Tours. This race has so much heritage. I love racing in Italy. We have a good group and it will be a nice three weeks.”
